In a recent Physiopedia post entitled “How do you track your CPD?” I wrote about how blogs, and in particular the voices column on Physiospot, are a great way to engage in regular CPD activity with an added twist. The blog not only benefits you and your reflective practice, but it also allows others to learn from your experience. I am a big advocate of peer learning and I am going to share my upcoming journey with you.
In September, I am going to begin a professional short-course for 6 months which will enable me to become an independent prescriber (as in I’ll be allowed to prescribe medications to patients). Clearly physiotherapists have different levels of autonomy and scopes of practice around the world, but I still hope that everyone can take something from my writing. I’ll be aiming to share my thoughts as they appear, I don’t want to commit to only discussing and sharing one theme. I am interested to see where the blog and writing process takes me, and I hope you’ll join me!
