Nuances of Tibial Internal Rotation Assessment

One of the main things I teach in Eclectic Approach seminars are recognition of Clinical Practice Patterns. For the lower quarter, looking at tibial rotation is key.

It's a common lower quarter pattern to find limited tibial internal rotation in
  • knee pain with closed chain activities
  • limited ankle mobility
  • poor single limb stance stability
If your patient exhibits any of the above, or in general has lower quarter issues, they may have difficulty with stability or accepting load due to limited tibial internal rotation. This video is a short version of a mini case from MMT: The Eclectic Approach to UQ and LQ Assessment and Treatment. The full 12 min video can be found on Modern Manual Therapy Premium
